Of all the clients I've ever worked with, Philipe Daudy was perhaps the most interesting.

Anglophile, author and former member of the French Resistance, he knew exactly what he wanted. The project started with a visit to the V&A where I uncovered labels of armagnacs from the 1900s. We settled on a woodcut of one of the historic barges that traveled down the the Baise canal in Gascony, loaded with oak barrels of armagnac. I wrote the copy for the brochure, though sadly I only have it in French.
